TEHRAN -- Dubai Christie’s will offer 43 artworks by prominent Iranian artists during its sales of Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art on April 17 and 18. “The Poet’s Family†and “The Wall†by Parviz Tanavoli, “Wave†by Nasrollah Afjehei, untitled works by Mohammed Ehsai and Charles Hossein Zenderudi will go under the hammer during Part I of the auction on April 17 which includes an impressive group of rare masterpieces by some of the most sought-after artists.
“Golden Allah†by Farhad Moshiri “Hurricane†by Afshin Pirhashemi, an untitled work by Kurosh Shishegaran and “Anaré dooneh dooneh†from the Pomegranate series by Reza Derakshani are other artworks which will go on sale at this part of the auction.
The sale of Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II on April 18 features many fascinating emerging talents, as well as including an exclusive section of seven works donated by the artists to benefit the UN’s World Food Program.
Untitled works by renowned artists Sedaqat Jabbari, Ali Shirazi, Salar Ahmadian and Masumeh Mozaffari accompanied by “Arab Icons†by Afsun, “Have a Break†by Katayun Karami and several other works will go on display in Part II of the auction.
“It is always very encouraging to have a strong selection of works already consigned so far in advance of the sale and we look forward to adding other important works over the coming days prior to the April sale,†Michael Jeha, Managing Director of Christie’s Middle East and specialist in charge of the sale, mentioned in a press release on the website of the auction.
The sale is sponsored by Zurich, who recently signed a three-year contract to be the sole sponsor of the bi-annual Christie’s Dubai sales, and will be held at the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai with pre-sale viewing from the Sunday prior to the sale.
