Tehran, June 12, 2011: The calligraphy artworks created by sixty artists from Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member countries will go on display at the Diplomatic Gallery of the ECO Cultural Center.
After the Behzad Museum of Art and History in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Babur Gardens in Kabul, Afghanistan, Tehran will host the exhibit from June 15 to 26.
Entitled “The Land of Sunâ€, the showcase will display artworks by the calligraphers from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria and Turkey, MNA reported.
Masters of calligraphy including Gholamhossein Amirkhani and Mohammad Heidari from Iran and Rashid Bat from Pakistan are among the artists whose works are on display at the showcase.
The exhibit, which aims to expand and introduce Persian script, was warmly welcomed by different nations.
The opening ceremony of the showcase will be attended by the ambassadors of the ECO member countries, Iranian officials and artists, as well as the officials of the ECO Cultural Center.
The gallery is located on No.10, Naz Valley, off Aqdasieh Ave.
