Tehran, June 14, 2011: Iranian director Hamid-Reza Aliqolian+s Flamingo No.13 is set to be screened at the 2011 edition of Italy+s A FILM FOR PEACE International Film Festival.
Written by Iranian poet Rasoul Younan, the 80-minute production will be screened during the 6th edition of the annual festival on July 3, 2011, Mehr News Agency reported.
Flamingo No.13 is set in a small mountainous village and recounts the story of a man who is obsessed with illegal Flamingo hunting and is trapped in a love triangle.
Aliqolian+s first work stars veteran poet and researcher Shams Langeroudi and its screenwriter Rasoul Younan.
“The flamingo is a symbol of overcoming the limitations which exist in exile,†explained Younan.
Flamingo No.13 also took part in the 2010 edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.
A FILM FOR PEACE Festival screens fiction films and documentaries on the subjects of peace, wartime conflict, civil war or human rights in an attempt to promote peace and dialogue among the people of all social groups.
The 2011 A FILM FOR PEACE International Film Festival, which will kick off on July 2 in the Italian city of Medea, will hold its award ceremony in London on October 27, 2011.
