6/18/2011 Iranian Culture Ministry Opens Digital Library

Tehran, June 15, 2011: The digital library of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance+s Center for Media Studies was inaugurated during a ceremony at the center on Tuesday.
According to MNA, the ceremony at the center was attended by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini.
During the ceremony, Hosseni praised the establishment of the library saying that it would have a crucial role in improving the quality of press and media.
Holding educational courses will boost the links between the center+s digital library with other academic centers and the online usage of those who are interested in media studies, he said.
Over 800 Persian books, 3,475 books in foreign languages, 19 thousand Persian articles, over seven thousand foreign languages articles and over 760 theses in Persian and other languages are available at the library, the head of the digital library Shirin Aladini mentioned at the ceremony.
She said that the library is ready to share its resources with other academic centers and universities when they become a member of the center+s digital library system.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Hosseini stressed on boosting cultural relations between Iran and Egypt saying that Iran is eager to improve cultural ties with this country.
He said that Iran announced that is ready to hold a cultural festival in Egypt.
