Tehran, May 15, 2011: The deputy head of Indian Cultural Council, Shahed Mehdi, says the country will establish its first cultural center in Iran.
Tehran, May 15, 2011: The deputy head of Indian Cultural Council, Shahed Mehdi, says the country will establish its first cultural center in Iran.
“It is possible to pursuit all studies related to history and culture of the two countries,†CHTN quoted Mehdi as saying.
India runs around 40 cultural centers across the world and plans to launch its center in Iran in the near futire, he noted.
Having the same root, Sanskrit and Persian languages have always had a firm connection.
He added that, Taj Mahal is one of the historical sites in India that shows the cultural bonds between the two countries.
Mehdi also noted that the first Indian Cultural Week is being held at Tehran+s Niavaran Cultural Artistic Complex.
At the ceremony, the deputy director of the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization in tourism affair, Shahbaz Yazdani, noted “India is a world renowned country for its civilization and rich culture and also counted as a unique symbol of peaceful country of various religions in the world.â€
The exhibition has been planned to showcase the attractions of India both in terms of history and tourism.
Indian films and Indian music are being performed during the event. Indian food and handicrafts are being displayed in the exhibition.
The first Indian Cultural Week was opened during a ceremony on May 10 and will run until May 15.
