7/19/2011 Tehran Hosts Top Movie Sound Tracks

Tehran, July 18, 2011: The Tehran Symphony Orchestra has performed a number of masterpieces from the sound tracks of several of the world+s most acclaimed movies in the country+s capital city of Tehran.
Conducted by prominent composer, Shahrdad Rohani, the concert was held at Tehran+s Vahdat Hall on Saturday, Mehr News Agency reports.
“I feel great that I+m in Iran again, accompanying the Tehran Symphony Orchestra,†US-based prominent musician Rohani told the audience before the concert.
The orchestra performed pieces composed for worldly renowned movies such as The Godfather, Gladiator, Mulan, Out of Africa, Romeo and Juliet and several other famous films.
The concert surprised the audience by presenting symphonies composed by Richard Strauss, Paul Dukas, Victor Young, Alfred Newman, John Barry, Nino Rota, John Stafford Smith and Hans Zimmer.
The orchestra also performed the remarkable music composed for Moustafa Akaad+s movie The Message, a movie on the life of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in 1976, that was warmly welcomed by the audience.
The orchestra will also perform the concert at Tehran+s Milad Tower on July 19, 2011.
