Iran, Egypt Cineastes Meet in Tehran |

Tehran, August 01, 2011: Iran+s Farabi Cinema Foundation hosts a group of Iranian and Egyptian cineastes who have gathered to discuss mutual cooperation in fields of cinema and culture.
The meeting was held on Sunday, in an attempt to boost cinematic cooperation between two countries, IRNA reported.
Jamal Shourjeh, Pouran Derakhshandeh, Davoud Rashidi, Farajollah Salahshour and Alireza Davoud-Nezhad were among the Iranian cineastes who attended the event.
The Egyptian participants of the meeting said their country+s young generation does not have a fair perspective on Iran due to the policies of Mubarak+s regime.
“It is my honor to participate in this session and I am so delighted to meet prominent figures of the Iranian cinema,†said Egyptian filmmaker Ahmad Maher.
“Screening Iranian and Egyptian films in both countries can help people become more familiar with each other+s culture and traditions,†added Egyptian critic and writer Mahmoud Ghasem.â€
Egyptian screenplay writer Bashir Aldic also referred to cultural and Islamic commonalities between Iran and his country and stressed that cinema can expose these mutual interests and help expand cultural ties between Iran and Egypt.
