8/16/2011 Tehran Hosts Austrian Photo Exhibition

Tehran. August 15, 2011: Leading Austrian photographer Kurt Horbst has mounted a photo exhibition in the Iranian capital city of Tehran to display various portraits of people from different nations.
Austrian Ambassador to Iran Thomas Buchsbam attended the inauguration ceremony held at the exhibition center of Shirin art gallery in Tehran on Saturday, Mehr news agency reports.
About 22photos, which are Horbst+s selections from 2005 to 2010, have been put on display at the event that will run until August 17, 2011.
The photos have been taken in natural surroundings of different world countries such as Ecuador, Bangladesh and Austria to depict different nations+ life mysteries.
Horbst+s photos feature European and Asian living not only within the scope of daily life but compare them with concerning their civilizations and role of modernity in their lives.
He plans to mount an exhibition in Iran next winter, after his trip to India and Venice, to showcase portraits of Iranians.
Born in 1972, Kurt Horbst originally studied telecommunications and now teaches history of photojournalism at the St. Polten University of Applied Sciences. He also founded a school of photography in Austria in 1996.
His works have appeared in numerous exhibitions both in Asian and European countries.
