Tehran. August 15, 2011: A number of Iranian computer game companies are to present their productions at the renowned European game industry fair, Gamescom, in the German city of Cologne.
Seven Iranian video games including Mir-Mahna, Hidden Treasure, Mountaineer, Black Gold, The story of the Island, The Heart of Simorgh and Dream Farm will participate in this international event, Mehr News Agency reported.
Ancient Persian tales and characters have inspired some of these Iranian video games. Traditional music and using modern ways of motion capture, which make movement and scenes of the game more natural, are among the features of these national games.
Sponsored by Iran National Foundation of Computer Games, several representatives from companies such as Rasana Afzar, Espris Pouyanama, the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults alongside some other firms will attend the fair.
Last year Iran had also taken part in the festival and by offering more than 10 games had acquired much attention from the media.
The event, presents latest computer game technologies from 33 countries with the participation of more than 4,400 journalists and 505 exhibitors. The world+s largest computer games event is held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, in Germany. The 2011 edition will be held from August 17 to 21.
