Kamyaran is one of the latest founded townships of Kurdestan (Kurdistan) province, prior to which it was part of the township of Sanandaj. This township is located in the north of Sanandaj and is in a mountainous region. This township is bounded in the north by Sanandaj, in the east by Qorveh and Kermanshah province in the south by Kermanshah and in the north west by the township of Marivan. It is located 65 km. from Sanandaj.
This township has a pleasant climate in spring and autumn. The general cultural distinctions in this region are similar to other sectors of Kurdistan province.
