Iran Cultural Days begins in Baku

Iran's Culture Minister Abbas Salehi, heading a delegation of well-known culture and art figures, is in Baku to take part in the Iran Cultural Days exhibition which began on Wednesday and will continue until July 1.

A senior Iranian official said the two countries will make a joint film. "Some part of the joint film will be shot in Baku - the Old City and the other part in Iran. The movie will focus on love story," Azertag quoted Head of Iranian Cultural Center Asghar Farsi as saying at a press conference in Baku. The Iran Cultural Days event seeks to promote cultural cooperation between the two countries, establish close communication and exchange of experience by artists from the two countries.

The program will include concerts staged by Iranian artists, exhibitions, screening films and staging theatrical performances. As part of the program, the National Orchestra of Iran, conducted by veteran composer Fereydoun Shahbazian performed a concert on Wednesday at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall in Baku and another one is scheduled for Friday at Ganja State Philharmonic in Ganja, in the west of the country. The orchestra features traditional singer Salar Aqili.

The film 'Muhammad: Messenger of Allah' by Iranian director Majid Majidi will be screened in Nizami Cinema Center today.
Titovak theater will stage 'Divine Comedy, Hell' at the State Musical Theater.
The Museum Center in Baku will host an exhibition of Iranian handicraft, national costumes, calligraphy, paintings and photographs.

Iran Cultural Days is part of a cultural exchange program organized by Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Financial Tribune reported.

Baku also hosted Iran Cultural Days program during the Fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

The events attracted interest of Baku residents. Representatives of the country performed at a series of concerts, featuring national songs and dance numbers, Azer News reported.

The Days of Iranian and Azerbaijani cultures in 2010 and 2011 were also held with great success.
