Seyed Hassan Modares is one of the famous characters of the contemporary history of Iran. This personality was poisoned in the year 1317 AH during the reign of Pahlavi I. He was buried in the suburb of Kashmar, an area which was known as Tappeh Akhund at that time. This tomb has been since reconstructed several times and lately it was renewed by the Qods Razavi.
