Atashgah castle is located 12km north west of Kashmar city in Khorasan Razavi Province. This castle was built by the Sasanian government and it was famous in ancient times. Evidence shows that this castle was important in its time. Nearby the fire-temple, a large cave exists, near the entrance of which a statue of a mounted soldier with a sword is noted. This is an historical remnant belongs to the Sassanian era.
