Khor ski resort is located in Chaloos road 30 kilometers away from Karaj and 65 kilometers outside of Tehran. A spectacular manifestation of nature with matchless capacities to do all sorts of sports and recreational activities in the mountains. Khor ski resorts opened in 1973.

There are various bicycle and walking paths from Khor ski resort to different places which gives you the chance of experiencing the fragrance of the mountains especially at heights.
 
Clean air, blue sky, rivers and springs plus mountains along side this mountainous region are by themselves another attraction of the area which hosts loads of mountain climbers from all over the country. To this collection you should add the spectacular views of the gardens with diverse spring and summer fruits located at the curves and the furthest part of the Khor ski resort road at the foot of the mountain which attracts the attention of any viewer.

One of the tourist attractions of Alborz Province located nearby Tehran is Khor Ski Resort in a historically significant village by the same name very close to the city, Karaj. In addition to having a purely eye-catching view, this village is blessed with a tube-riding run that offers a beautiful waterfall with over 50m of height, thanks to all of these elements, quite a large number of tourists come to visit it on yearly basis.
 
Khor ski resort has a variety of habitats, ecology and weather conditions which range from species living in the mountains to those which inhabit the jungles and mountain foots plus local immigrant birds creating a diverse environment. Mammals such as leopard, wild cat, brown bear, wolf, boar, wild goat and birds such as quail, partridge, golden eagle and vulture inhabit the region.

The Khor ski track is located at an altitude of 2800m to 3000m above sea level with a vertical drop of 200m, and snow depth of one to two meters. There are two ski routes in the Khor resort with a length of 1850m and 350m, and daily capacity of 1300 skiers.

Access to Khor Ski Resort is possible by means of taxi, bus, or private car. In order to get to it, you should go from Tehran to Karaj and from there to Chalous, and after covering 15 kilometers, right before Karaj Dam (Amir Kabir Dam), turn to the direction of Khowzen'Kala Village. From there, after about another 15 kilometers, you will be right in front of the resort.
 
Tube-riding section is one of the most popular facilities of Khor Ski Resort, yet, you should bear in mind that using tube for such a ride is not in agreement with safety standards and may result in irremediable injuries.

The ski lift system is that of a chairlift whose heights at the first station from sea level is 2400m and and at its peak it reaches to 2850m. The length of the ski lift is 1500m. Also the walking and climbing path from the altitude of 2850m have a pretty slight steep to the altitude of 3400m.

The entry fee of the Khor Ski Resort is 550,000 IRR and it is exposed only on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The duration of using the ski resort for one day is from 8:30AM until 2:30PM. A parking lot is available to use at this complex with the entrance fee of 100,000 IRR. There is also a rental shop for renting skis and ski boats at the complex that you can rent them between the rate of 300,000 IRR to 350,000 IRR.
 
The ski instructors are available at the ski school to teach you how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you from 3,000,000 IRR to 3,500,000 IRR for one day. You can share this amount with your companions.

There is a Three-bedroom villa with a capacity of eight persons, which is equipped with convenient facilities. If you want to stay at this lodging, you should pay about 8,000,000 IRR to 10,000,000 IRR for 1-night stay.

The ski season at the Khor Ski Resort, runs from mid-January until March. The ski resort opens to the public only on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
