This museum is located in the historical site of the beautiful edifice of the Rakhtshooy Khaneh in the renowned locality of Baba Jamal Charoqi of Zanjan. This is a remnants of the Qajar era and the museum displays fire exhibits related to the older times. Clothes or apparel that men and women wore, including handicrafts.
Rakhtshooy Khaneh means a wash-house which is located in the heart of the historical urban area of Zanjan province. It is placed in a densely residential area. People were washing their clothes at this place. Due to the cold weather in winter, Rakhtshooy Khaneh has built for the women of Zanjan province. Rakhtshooy Khaneh has constructed by Mashadi Akbar and Mashadi Esmail. Mashadi Akbar was an architect, and Mashadi Esmail was a bricklayer. The architectural style of this building dated back to the late Qajar dynasty and early Pahlavi dynasty. Using this place was free for everyone for 24 hours a day. It was public and nightlife and no money was received from citizens for using it.

This complex is divided into a management part of Rakhshooy Khane containing the yard, residential area and the main area for washing the clothes which is itself divided into four parts. This building of public utility is unique in the country which has been turned into the Zanjan anthropology museum, and visited by tourists and enthusiasts from 1998 to the present.
